Alite For Literacy

 

Alite for LiteracyInnovative and effective ways to develop and improve your literacy teaching

This is an exciting, interactive and creative one-day programme, designed to give participants a wealth of new ideas for improving literacy through Accelerated Learning. Throughout the day the course trainer models the AL approach, demonstrating practical exercises in an engaging and memorable way. You will leave the course with an abundance of tools and techniques that can be applied as soon as you return to your classroom.

 

Each participant will receive a booklet with many practical examples, games and ideas, with clear explanations on how to implement them in the classroom. The range of ideas we will share with you cover areas such as:

 

  • Creative writing stimuli
  • Using ICT to enhance literacy
  • Speaking and listening
  • Spelling strategies
  • Collaborative working
  • Boys and writing
  • Aspects of grammar

 

The course follows the Alite learning cycle and addresses learning using the connection, activation, demonstration and consolidation phases.

 

Through a variety of inputs and activites during the day, you will:

  • Discover how to apply the Alite learning cycle to literacy sessions
  • Take home real examples of how Accelerated Learning techniques can be used to improve and revitalise the Literacy lesson
  • Be given highly effective,creative ideas for motivating boys to write
  • Experience Brain Break activities to use for focusing attention, spelling, handwriting, refocusing and energising the class
  • Discover new ideas for visual, auditory and kinaesthetic inputs to use in the classroom
  • Take away a range of tried and tested writing activities to use in the classroom

As this is a highly participative and interactive course, we recommend delegate numbers of between 20 and 60 (inclusive).

 

Every delegate receives a full set of documentation which will serve as a reference source as they apply the techniques in their own classroom
