Engaging Parents - 1 Day Conference

As we all know, the involvement of a child's family and carers in their learning is critical in raising achievement, attainment and well-being.

But how do you get parents and carers involved and engaged? We are running a series of practical, down-to-earth sessions packed with ideas and tried-and-tested strategies to help schools with this issue.

Topics include:

  • Why involve parents and carers?
  • How does parental engagement impact on the learning of the child?
  • Case studies: real, practical examples of how schools have improved parental engagement
  • Are there hard-to-reach parents, or just hard-to-reach schools?
  • How to run an effective in-school programme for parents
  • Parents as Learners: using an approach based on learning to learn
  • What is the evidence from students, parents and schools?
