L2 Module Seven - I Thinker - The Thinking Skills Module

 

I Thinker is the Thinking Skills Module and the seventh of nine in the L2 Approach.

 

I Thinker will help you develop independent learning and thinking skills.

 

If your students struggle to find and sort key information, organize their thinking, evaluate and critically appraise what’s in front of them, then I Thinker delivers a solution.  I Thinker builds your students’ appreciation of what lies behind thinking through very realistic contemporary challenges. They will enjoy the challenge of thinking like crime scene detectives, archaeologists and festival planners.

 

The module gives you an excellent starting point to develop an approach to thinking skills which contains challenge and progression. It will help deliver a competency based approach such as PLTS and has assessment for learning built into each lesson. The module helps students:

 

  • Develop an appreciation of the difference between deep and shallow thinking
  • Grow an extended ‘thinkers’ vocabulary
  • Build up a repertoire of easy to use thinking tools which go beyond the classroom
  • Work together on enquiry based challenges
  • Apply their thinking skills to their chosen career or job
  • Transfer what they learn into other lessons
